AdBlock shows a mimicry of a plant, gently waving in the wind. It generates shadows on a canvas, like that moment when sunset gives you a playful set of abstract floral forms on the curtains.

The only difference, the source is fake. Like many things in our digitalized life, the obvious reflections are just the visible effects while the underlying material goes much further. Manipulated, fake, or generated by an automatic procedure are only a few of the possible origins.

The artwork is made of discarded computer circuit boards, e-waste materials, and trash basically. Not necessarily as an ecological statement, but more of a visual confrontation between a distorted version of fauna, and the romanticism of that beautiful moment when sunlight generates a shadow of a tree, bushes or flowers on a surface.

Like in Plato’s “allegory of the cave”, we look at our own reality. You can stay, return or depart.
