After their huge success during the festival last year, the team of physicists and astronomers from University of Southampton are back and invite the public to assist them in a range of workshop activities including;

– Aurora Zoo, to better understand different types of aurora which helps us to understand space weather that damages satellites

– Light Wave, a hands-on demonstration of fibre optics and low-powered lasers that illustrates the importance of photonics in daily life

– Gold Fingerprints, where visitors learn about electrodeposition in the creation of semiconductor materials by making their own fingers gold

– #Sotonastroart, get a hands-on experience of Dark Energy with astrophysicist Doctor Sadie Jones.
