EYRIE by Seren Birtles

Location: Inside St James Church Community Building

‘An intertwining nest of plastic and light’.

An intertwining nest of plastic stretched between floor and ceiling, with projected patterns of light referencing the ocean. This large-scale installation piece aims to immerse the audience and encourages them to interact with it and reflect on the comfort they draw from consumption and possession. It also comments on the way humanity consistently puts themselves above other species, in making connections to the Great Pacific Garbage patch and the devastating effect of plastic on marine life.
